Description
Are you good with children? Do you like the idea of helping to positively contribute to
their development? Then Early Years would a suitable care for you. Early Years as a
career is very rewarding industry to work in. Once you qualify as Early Years Practitioner,
you will be able to work in nurseries and schools, as teachers, teaching assistants and
support staff.

these sectors. Our teachers are able to train our students to the standard required for
entry into the workplace.
What does the qualification cover?
This qualification equipes learners with fundamental knowledge of childcare in early
years settings. It covers working with children up to the age of 5 years old. The units
include subjects such as the value of play, roles and responsibilities of carers and
volunteers and the importance of developing links in the local community.

Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children & Young People
Our courses are designed for new and existing childcare practitioners to gain the
necessary skills to launch a career in Early Years. With a Level 2 qualification, learners
are much more employable and can go on to work in a rewarding Nursery Nurse role.
With units ranging from safeguarding to child development, the course gives a broad
knowledge of childcare and prepares learners to work in the childcare sector.
This course equipes learners with knowledge required to deliver quality provision and
care for children and young people that meets national standards set in the UK and
many other countries.
Our courses include:
• Unit 1 – Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
• Unit 2 – Importance of play for early learning
• Unit 3 – Use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet
• Unit 4 – Young Children’s Development
• Unit 5 – Accident prevention and fire safety when babysitting
To achieve this qualification, learners must achieve a minimum of 16 credits for the
certificate ( 9 credits must be achieved at Level 2 and a further 7 credits must be
achieved at either Level 1 or 2).
