The following are the main courses offered at Tanzanite College of Excellency
• NCFE CACHE Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care
• NCFE CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care
NCFE CACHE Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care
This qualification is suitable for learners 16 years old, and it covers a range of key
subject areas in health and social care. The course offers a wide range of optional
units choose from. The course is primary designed for learners who would like to progress into further education on to Level 3 or the workplace.
For this qualification, learners are not required to attend placement in a Real Work
Environment, but it is recommended that learner should secure a 30 hours or more of work placement in order to support their learning. This course takes about one year to complete.
There are 5 mandatory units which are all internally assessed, and two optional units which learner must complete to achieve the qualification. The units are broken down as
shown below:

The Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care is designed to enable learners to have
access to Higher Education or to assist learners to progress into the workplace.
Learners are required to secure a minimum of 75 hours of work placement in a real work
environment as part of their training in order to support them. Placement can be done in
any of the following institutions: Adult Residential Care Home, Nursing Home, Day
Centre, Children’s Centre, Hospitals, GPs, Supported/Sheltered, Accommodation, and
Domiciliary/Community care, to mention a few.
